Community-Meeting with Dean Spade
Cooperation DH5&Maiz
MAIZ: As a migrant-led, self-organized association, we at maiz are interested in pursuing mutual aid strategies and practices that shift our interaction as providers within the cultural and social sector.
During this meeting, important topics will be addressed, such as acute crises and insecurities, feminism, culture, the environment, social roles, migration experiences, and how they can produce social spaces where people develop new forms of solidarity.
The workshop will be facilitated by Dean Spade. Dean Spade @spade.dean is an US-American author and activist who, among others, wrote the book „Mutual Aid: Building Solidarity During This Crisis (and the next).“ Dean Spade works for the liberation of the queer and trans movement, as well as anti-militarism and the abolition of police and prisons.
We warmly invite activists, organisations, artists, and cultural and social workers to spend a powerful afternoon together, where we can network and gather strength. We will start the activity with a collective on-site prepared meal. You are welcome to bring drinks and other snacks to share.
Free activity with limited spots. Registration via: kultur@maiz.at
Let’s look out for each other, get tested, or stay home if you have flu or covid symptoms. Masks will be provided.
